Nirmala Niketan is an educational project in a university town called Kalyani, which is just outside Kolkata. The school was named after Ms Ruth Nirmala Gnanakan, the late sister of Dr Ken and Dr Ricky Gnanakan. She passed away over 10 years ago, and had committed her life to education.

Nirmala Niketan caters to the many families who don't have access to quality education in Kalyani. There are close to 300 students at present and the growing school is already bursting at the seams!
